Umm al-Quwain (Arabic: أمّ القيوين‎ Umm al-Quwwayn, 'Mother of the Two Powers') is one of the sovereign emirates in the United Arab Emirates, located in the north of the country. In 2012, it had a population of 70,000 residents.
