The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) conducted a one day medical awareness and education program for its employees. As a lead participant in this program, NMC Healthcare contributed to the proceedings in two different modules.
To start with, Dr. George Joseph, Physician at NMC Specialty Hospital, Abu Dhabi, delivered a lecture on hyperlipidaemia. Talking to a full house, Dr. George provided a fine overview of cholesterol and its management. Thanks to his lucid delivery style, a complex topic such as hyperlipidaemia was scaled down into simpler common English for the general audience to assimilate the subject. The response to Dr. George’s presentation was outstanding and the ADNOC organising committee requested for a second presentation.
In the second module, NMC arranged for a free diabetes and hypertension detection camp. This initiative by NMC met with an outstanding response with more than 300 patients being screened until the first half of the day.
Nurses Padmapriya from ICU and Kirk from Surgery department handled the huge line of enthusiastic participants with cheerful promptness. Both Padmapriya and Kirk deserve our heartfelt appreciation for their dexterity and patience to handle the growing queue at the NMC booth.
Effective utilisation of internal resources is NMC’s competitive advantage and our ability to work in small cohesive teams gives us that defining edge over others.
Following this successful campaign, NMC Healthcare is now getting ready for a series of similar such events under the auspices of The Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET).
