NMC Healthcare launched Hand Hygiene Drive
NMC Healthcare is celebrating World Hand Hygiene Day with the rest of the world in an effort to raise awareness about the benefits of hand hygiene and to share the best practice. Hand Hygiene Day is a WHO’s initiative, taking place on 5th of May every year, to motivate and mobilize billions around the world to wash their hands with soap.
This year’s theme ‘Save lives - clean your hands’ is aimed at improving hand hygiene in the health care sector, where the cleanliness of hands is often credited with saving more lives than most medical breakthroughs. As per a report from WHO “the number of infections acquired during medical or surgical procedures can be brought down by 50 percent if good hand hygiene is followed””.
NMC Healthcare’s Hand Hygiene Drive entitled “I Cleaned My Hands – Did you?” reinforces the importance of one of the simplest methods of preventing infection – “hand washing”. By displaying posters and distributing badges, the campaign targets NMC healthcare staff, patients, and the community at large, especially children.
The campaign is dedicated to raising awareness of Hand Hygiene as the simplest and most cost-effective way of reducing transmission of infections and viruses.
